Dr. Mumtaz Baig ( Group Leader )

eside being working as a Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology, Govt. Vidarbha Government Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities, Amravati. Basically interested in understanding origin and diversity of species using DNA based tools. During my doctoral degree research, I was trained at Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad, India (www.cdfd.org). Also, worked as postdoctoral fellow at Laboratory of Eclogie alpine, CNRS, Grenoble France (www-leca.ujf-grenoble.fr) and Institute of Animal Genetics and Breeding, at the University of Giessen Germany (www.uni-giessen.de). In addition to this, I was at Kunming Institute of Zoology (www.kiz.cas.cn ) China as a CAS-TWAS postdoctoral fellow and at Department of Ecology and Evolutionary biology, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY under the DBT-CREST award.
